This is a huge and unique natural sapphire from a brand new deposit in Mozambique. The stone has a strong color-change from deep burgundy in natural light to intense purple-red under incandescent light. I have never seen a sapphire quite like this one. It is a superb stone for a collector or jewelry connoisseur looking for a one-of-a-kind piece. Gem quality sapphires over 5cts are very rare, and even more so with color-change. The stone is clean except for a patch of fine silk on one side. The stone has a gemological certification from an independent lab.
